My Butterfly!

I have a garden, colourful and sweet,
In it, is a Butterfly so exquisite,
And my love for it would never fluctuate!

Love compasses all, they say,
It may seem true all the way,
Until the one thing that you love, starts to fly away!

Love is a beautiful bridge,
Once broken, can never be built,
The pain it causes can never be dealt.

If you love someone, set them free,
If they comeback, they are yours,
If they don’t, you’ll cry for hours!

My Butterfly has now left my garden,
It’s wings have become beautiful and wide,
I pray, that it doesn’t land on a poisonous vine.

The garden now lays desolate,
I’m gonna burn it down with Ethyl Acetate,
I badly want somebody to stop me before it’s too late!

Hi, hope you all are doing good! Recently I’ve been so busy, I wasn’t able to post regularly or reply to comments properly. I wish that I would be able to post more often in the coming days. Thank you all for your constant support and love even though I’m not able to return back the same to you all !

FYI – Ethyl Acetate is a highly combustible substance that rhymes with the word “desolate”. πŸ˜€

  1. I would have liked your poem but then you have spoiled it by writing about burning the garden, which is absurd.

You don’t destroy nature under any circumstances, and not for “rhyming”.

    1. Hi Joanna, Thank you for the comment..! I agree with your point..!

But you won’t know the pain that a lost love can cause. Men have gone to war for their love and shed blood.

Btw I’m not really gonna burn a garden, it’s just an imaginary space on my mind that I’ve given to that butterfly. I didn’t know that you would take the meaning so literally.

      Anyways, I welcome your view.
      Happy reading, as always!

I hereby advise all the readers not to burn any gardens. You know, global warming, pollution and stuff happens right .. πŸ€—

      1. Thank you for your reply, but how are we to interpret your poem if not literary, as it isn’t enigmatic in any way?

And you don’t burn the garden because is a) beautiful
        b) full of other wildlife creatures, including butterflies, not because of pollution.

But enough of my sermon, I am kicking off my soapbox, and bid you goodby

  3. When I read your poem I imagined a father bidding farewell to his beautiful daughter. Your poem describes how anyone would feel when it’s time for their loved one to go their separate way.
